Overview

This proposed application for Android and Apple based mobile platforms will aid our users in making decisions within group settings. This app will allow users to create groups with other users with the ability to add/remove members. In addition, on a user by user basis, preferences can be saved for any category (i.e. for a 'food' category, a user may rank the types of food they like most, maybe Italian first, then Mexican, etc.). Leveraging the stored preferences and the already defined groups, this app will allow users to quickly and fairly provide their group with their best option for any group decision (here we are defining the 'best' option as the option that has the highest net positive for all members in the group based on their individual preferences). Once the best option is determined, this app will enhance the user experience by suggesting a local option that fulfills the determined option (for example, if the choice option for 'food' was Chinese, then the app will present a local Chinese restaurant). Lastly, to help prevent 'stale' options from occurring over and over, the group will have a brief time period to vote on the suggested option. If the suggested option doesn't pass a group defined threshold, then the app will present suggestions for the next best options until an option gets voted through.
