feature request: view track metadate and A/B monitoring

Couple of useful features I found in other UIs - the ability to view a track's metadata (prompt, seed, model, cfg etc) and A?B monitoring to play and compare two tracks with an A/B switch.
for an example you can see how these are implemented in hot-step-9000

thanks for looking at it and sorry for assuming you knew the hot-step GUI. I took some screenshots. highlighted on the right is the info you can see when choosing one of the tracks generated - its very sude full if you want to try a variation on it by changing just some parameters or copying some parameters into the current values in the generation setup.

The A/B monitoring is important when you do two generation with one parameter change (different cfg for example and you want to hear the difference between them - in hot step there is a player window at the bottom and each track as a compare button so when you press compare on 2 tracks the player loads both and the switch choose which one you can hear. Your cpp interface already has half of the functionality as it plays to several tracks synced to each other but a mute/solo button on each track can be similar to A/B monitoring

The other missing functionality is file management, either within the GUI or as separate tab or webapp linked to the indexdb, a library like function where i can select several tracks for deletion, rename, audition etc - the multi file delete is the one that I really miss- after 3 hours of generation I ended up with dozens of tracks and the manual delete of each through the small menu button is not very friendly

In fact, there's a sample-accurate synchronization in acestep.cpp; when two tracks are the same length, you can start and stop either one, and you'll hear the difference. However, this involves a point where both tracks are played simultaneously (play A, play B, stop A).
And the perceptible volume is maintained at the same level as long as the signals are not in phase (case where the 2 pieces of music are strictly identical). And this works for any number of songs, even 10.
I wanted to add an automatic crossfade and tools for live performance!

i guess what I am suggesting is QoL improvements - i have used the multi track playing as u suggests but one button to switch between the two tracks for quick comparison is more production friendly for speed.

same with file management, the ability to select several tracks to delete is a QoL improvement, the ability to rename tracks after generation is useful for keeping things organised.

And metadata viewing is also a point of speed - instead of loading the LM metadata i can quickly see what lora a particular generation used or what prompt or what seed etc

I want it to be mobile-friendly, this complicates the usability (QoL) choices considerably.

• I can create a popup that provides a quick overview of the track parameters; that's not complicated.
• For bulk deletion, replace the basic "above/below" with 1 masse delete, triggering a checkbox on all tracks, which only appears when you want to clean things up.
• For instant A/B testing, that's a very good question, but there must be an elegant way to do it.

yes i can see that A/B monitoring is a tricky problem if you dont have a dedicated audio player area... i guess its also a niche for those that want to experiment in getting the best settings rather than just quick generation.

one hack will be to add exclusive solo button to the tracks (exclusive so they dont accumulate and only one solo button can be active at one time) and maybe a mute button to address another ui issue - for example I want to A/B two tracks that are several generations apart (so the are not visible in the window in the same time without crawling) - if the files are next to each other than a simple exclusive solo button per tracks will be fine, they play along together and i can choose which one to hear easily but if they far apart than I have to crawl and find the track i want to solo press solo and than when i want to hear the first one i need to crawl back to find it and press solo on that one - if a mute button is also there i can solo on one track and when deselecting solo it could go back to mute when i can then hear the other track... or alternatively being able to drag a track up and down the order i can put them next to each other and than you only need one exclusive solo button

You're interested in the clean cut/swap at the correct position, right?

In fact, all you need is a button that swaps the volume of two last playing. Start any for A, start any for B. Click on the button to swap output.

Then, the algorithm can be generalized to N. Each time this button is clicked, everything is muted except for only 1 piece of music. For each click, we increment. Modulo (%) total (for loop).
Play A + B + C give :
Clic -> A 100% volume other 0%.
Clic -> B 100% volume other 0%.
Clic -> C 100% volume other 0%.
Clic -> A 100% volume other 0%.
etc...
Launch 2 if you want.

Or, a simple little button present on all music tracks can make the volume exclusive to that track and mute all the others... but you have to move the mouse for each swap!
