Display Screen goes black when clicking out of SoftProjector

I'm using Win 10. Anytime I F5 to go live and then click outside the app, such as taskbar or another app, the display screen goes black. I can return to SoftProjector and toggle display screen On/Off and then F5 again, after which clicking out of the app no longer causes display screen to go black.

This issue started as soon as switched my 2nd monitor output to a video encoder (Newtek Spark Plus 4k). This video encoder has a passthrough hdmi port to connect a physical monitor. This black-screen bug is presented both on the encoded video stream as well as the passthrough monitor.

How can I help debug this bug?

@frifox are you able to remove the Newtek Spark Plus device and plug it directly into the monitor?
Does the display go black when you plug it in direct?

I have dug a bit more and I believe it was a coincidence that issue started around the time I installed the ndi encoder. I connected the 2nd monitor directly and the issue is still there.
