[FR] IVERSON/JR - Per-Channel Clock

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the proper way to go about making a feature request (mea culpa).

I'd very much like to run the sequencer channels in Iverson at different speeds.

My suggestion is to add 2 new controls per channel:

• Clock-In [port] : supersedes the master Clock-In on its channel if patched
• Div/Mult [knob] : a bipolar clock modulator, where 0= bypass, negative values= divide the clock, positive values= multiply the clock

[Clock-In] per channel is sufficient to accomplish the base functionality, and allows integration with existing clock sources

[Div/Mult] allows basic per-channel rate customization without any additional modules/clock modulators, and adds another layer of performance control (via MIDI learn)

This is an interesting idea, and I can see it would allow a lot more flexibility. Currently, Iverson just passes the external clock, and this was by design, so I am going to have a think about the best way to implement this functionality. My initial thoughts would be to have separate clock inputs per channel but allow for the use of external clock modules, to provide the div/multiply, along with swing and pulse width.

That would be fantastic. Indeed, the other functionality could be readily handled by external modules. Count Modula's Polyrhythmic Generator comes to mind as a nice pairing. Cheers

I also would love to see that. In order not to disrupt the existing module, what about an extension module, which would add separate clocks, normalled by the main clock?

If it’s simpler, why not? I’m happy to have the functionality in any form.

I agree an expander is on the way, there have been several requests for cv inputs and additional outputs, alongside the clocks. Currently, Iverson's UI is getting some much need love, with the help of another designer, but the expander is my next project.
