Is it possible to compile nowadays?

I would like to know what tools were used at the time to compile the ROM for vee3/v1 because using Ubuntu 14.04, I cannot compile, and I noticed that there were corrections in the ROM (lineage os 11/13), which I did not see compiled anywhere (except for vee3 los13).
