Can't add NodeJS to environment path - system is read only. #7

Description

When I try to add NodeJS to the path I get errors about the system being read-only.
I started with no environment folder on my rooted Roborock S5 Max.

Trying to make the directory also fails with this error:
mkdir: can't create directory '/etc/environment': Read-only file system

I'm already root user so maybe it's not possible on my system?
Is there an alternative way around this?
