FL studio freezing

FL studio keeps freezing

I might have made a mistake or something while setting up but I'm to knew at Linux to know what to do.

Please provide more information. Right now I can't guess as to what may be causing problems, and I don't personally experience this.

What is your current setup?

• Operating System
• Wine runner (I'm assuming you're using Bottles from flatpak if you used this guide?)
• FL Studio version (I usually assume the current latest release)
• Any customization to the bottle not mentioned in the guide.

FL Specific setup:

• When FL Studio freezes, what are you doing? Is it reproducible?
• Any 3rd party plugins specific? Any specific samples?
• Can you share a sample project that reproduces the issue?

It freezes for me too, whenever i save, or replace/add plugins, it also freezes sometimes when im just recording and editing my vocals

I still need more information to be able to provide any help figuring out the issue(s). Can't help if I don't know what setup is being used.

FL Specific setup:

When FL Studio freezes, what are you doing? Is it reproducible? It happens randomly, but i can reproduce it by opening a project, and then opening a new project, it freezes for about 20 seconds, and then loads the other project.
Any 3rd party plugins specific? Any specific samples? No
Can you share a sample project that reproduces the issue? It happens with all my projects, not just one specific.

Also i tried other wine runners, the issue seems to be unrelated to that.

Okay so the issue for me, seems to be caused by newer versions of antares autotune, it only happens when i load a project that has that plugin in it.

Fl has a couple of issues inside of linux thatarent necessarily stated here. I a going to make a post about it buti haven't fixed enough of them

1. The way Image Line manages windows doesn't play nice with linux window managers for some reason. From my experience, X11 can try to take the focus and fl will not give it in some situations and it will get caught in a deadlock. thats dependent on when you drag plugins in, if you have other plugins open while you do, and other things you may do when using the DAW
2. Loading up 32bit plugins lead to another deadlock. The technical term is a Critical section failure from one thread trying to acess another that is waiting on another thread...Bare with me, I'm no expert here. but WINE has issues passing 32bit window properties to a 64bit window and then parenting fl to that new plugin.
   This issue can be fixed by using the registry though.

for me it's Zenology. i can't live without it :c

1. issue is absolutely unrelated to runners
2. it still happens even if playback is stopped
3. as soon as i remove zenology from the project it stops freezing
