i'm guessing this is related to the boxart feature- but that library slows down the ui whenever you hit the menu button, as well as when loading certain apps like the file browser. i'm certain that is the issue because i was attempting to port native pico-8 to the original minUI, and when that library is added it slows down the entire UI just like MyMinUI.
i don't use boxart at all, and really only want the native pico-8 feature- but if the slowdown was removed, I wouldn't see any reason to pick minUI over MyMinUI.
