What changes are you trying to make? (e.g. Adding or removing code, refactoring existing code, adding reports)
In this assignment code was written into the assignment.sh script with the goal of organizing data files.
What did you learn from the changes you have made?
I learned some basic shell commands for handling and navigating directories/files. These commands could be put inside a script to be executed in one line. For certain commands there are flags associated with it for specific outcomes. Also the use of wildcards are very useful when needing to target to a specific set of filenames.
Was there another approach you were thinking about making? If so, what approach(es) were you thinking of?
When navigating directories and handling directories/files you could write it in various ways because you can move in and out of directories from commands such as cd, mv, rm, touch, ... achieves the same things in a different order.
Were there any challenges? If so, what issue(s) did you face? How did you overcome it?
There were times I had run the wrong command or ran it incorrectly. Having worked through each question in terminal and then updating the script allowed for me to run the script when there was a mistake and it would reset the project state to a step before.
How were these changes tested?
These changes were tested by manual verification to what was asked. So if something was supposed to be deleted or added I check the directory by clicking open the directories.
