I've corrected this change per recommendation from @dhh1128. Missing scripts are correctly renamed and Makefile.am has been restored to its master-branch state. Should be ready for merge now. |

Fix "make dist" and "make distcheck" for 4.1-dev branch and copy over .gitignore to this branch to cut down on noise.
