Cursor jumps to first line when switching between tabs/documents irrespective of the line it was selected before

Describe the bug
A clear and concise description of what the bug is.
When I work with multiple tabs at the same time, with several markdown documents, when I switch between tabs/documents the cursor jumps to the first line of the document, irrespective of the position where it was before switching.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open several markdown documents
2. Place the cursor on any line other than the first one
3. Switch between tabs/documents
4. The cursor is placed on the first line of the document

Expected behavior
The expected behaviour was for the cursor to stay on the previously selected line of the document and not the first one.
