Make the highlights of empty lines more prominent

When the boundary is an empty line, the highlight we get will only be a character long. Is there a way to make this more prominent or eye-catching? Maybe some kind option to highlight the entire line regardless of the length of its contents would be useful.

AFAIK this is due to a change in Emacs 27.1. Please see, e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/diahh1/emacs_27_update_changed_how_highlighted_lines/ It may be necessary to add an additional property to the faces in this package.

That's a pretty painful change :(
For now I used this function to fix it, not sure if this is the best way though:

So you just added :extend t to the face? That's probably the right fix.
