Description
The workspace trust prompt ("Quick safety check: Is this a project you created or one you trust?") appears repeatedly for the same workspace directory, even after selecting "Yes, I trust this folder". The trust setting is not being saved/persisted.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open workspace
/Users/tkorn in Claude Code
- See workspace trust prompt
- Select "Yes, I trust this folder"
- Close and reopen Claude Code
- Workspace trust prompt appears again
Expected Behavior
After selecting "Yes, I trust this folder" once, the choice should be saved and the prompt should not appear again for the same workspace.
Actual Behavior
The prompt appears every time the workspace is opened, sometimes multiple times within the same hour (reported 5+ times in one hour).
Environment
- OS: macOS (Darwin 25.2.0)
- Claude Code version: (current version as of 2026-01-27)
- Workspace path:
/Users/tkorn
- Additional context: User has also configured
additionalDirectories setting to include /Users/tkorn

- User has confirmed selecting "Yes" multiple times
- No error messages visible to user
- Unclear if trust settings file is failing to write or being cleared
- Possible permissions issue with
