[BUG] Running claude version 2.1.52 on linux only runs bun

What's Wrong?

After updating to version 2.1.52, running claude only outputs:

Running to ~/.local/share/claude/versions/2.1.51 doesn't have this issue, but running ~/.local/share/claude/versions/2.1.52 does.

What Should Happen?

Claude code should open.

I resolved the issue, on my end, it appears to be due to running out of space in the home directory.

I have this issue currently with version 2.1.63. When I run claude, it just runs bun. When I run the 2.1.62 binary, it runs claude code as expected. I cleared space in my home directory and the issue still happens, so it is unresolved.

Work around - set Auto-update channel to stable instead of latest, and select "Allow possible downgrade to stable version". As of today, this downgraded me to 2.1.50, which is not having this issue.`

The native (Bun-compiled) binary installed by install.sh is broken on Ubuntu 25.04. It is falling through to Bun's default handler instead of launching Claude Code.

I installed via npm npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code which works correctly, then removed the broken native binary from ~/.local/bin/claude

I'm having this problem in Windows as well. When downloading it through winget install Anthropic.ClaudeCode.

I saw there was an issue describing this on windows but that was closed withouth being resolved
