Fix refetch function to run full refetch

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Improved data refresh reliability for user positions and summary data by switching to cache invalidation instead of direct refetching.
    • Adjusted caching behavior so initial user position data is always considered stale, ensuring up-to-date information.
  • Chores
    • Removed unnecessary debug logging from user transactions.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The changes update how user position data is refreshed by switching from direct refetch calls to explicit cache invalidation using React Query's query client. Stale and garbage collection settings are adjusted. A console log is removed from the transactions hook. No public API signatures are changed.

Changes

File(s) Change Summary
src/hooks/useUserPositions.ts Switched refetch logic from direct refetch to query invalidation; adjusted staleTime and removed gcTime.
src/hooks/useUserPositionsSummaryData.ts Replaced refetchPositions with manual invalidation of multiple related queries for finer refresh control.
src/hooks/useUserTransactions.ts Removed a debug console.log statement.

Possibly related PRs

  • feat: refetch #58: Also modifies useUserPositions to add a manual refetch function and refetch state, directly relating to the refetch logic changes in this PR.

Poem

Data refresh, now smart and neat,
Invalidate caches, skip repeat.
Console logs gone, code is clean,
Hooks refactored, sharp and lean.
User positions up to date—
Query client seals the fate!

Note

⚡️ Faster reviews with caching

CodeRabbit now supports caching for code and dependencies, helping speed up reviews. This means quicker feedback, reduced wait times, and a smoother review experience overall. Cached data is encrypted and stored securely. This feature will be automatically enabled for all accounts on May 16th. To opt out, configure Review - Disable Cache at either the organization or repository level. If you prefer to disable all data retention across your organization, simply turn off the Data Retention setting under your Organization Settings.
Enjoy the performance boost—your workflow just got faster.

src/hooks/useUserPositionsSummaryData.ts (3)

1-1: New imports added to support refetch strategy

Added imports for useQueryClient and positionKeys to support the new refetch implementation using cache invalidation.

Also applies to: 10-10

86-87: React Query client initialized

Added query client initialization to enable cache invalidation in the refetch function.

176-187: Improved refetch implementation with selective cache invalidation

The implementation now uses a more granular approach by invalidating specific query caches rather than directly calling refetch methods. The strategy:

  1. Preserves block numbers cache (commented line)
  2. Invalidates position initial data
  3. Invalidates enhanced positions
  4. Invalidates earnings

This provides better control over cache management and aligns with the "full refetch" objective.

src/hooks/useUserPositions.ts (2)

150-150: Set staleTime to zero for initial data query

Setting staleTime: 0 ensures the initial data is always considered stale, forcing a fresh fetch when queries are invalidated.

252-264: Refetch implementation using cache invalidation

The refetch function now uses invalidateQueries to explicitly invalidate both the initial data and enhanced positions caches. This ensures a complete refresh of all position data when refetch is called.

Dependencies array is correctly updated to include queryClient and user.
