Further to this merged PR, I tested locally and observe that istio-proxy is still not being killed (yet the DAG is still being marked as success in the airflow UI).
After some testing I figured out that the simple solution is just to put a quote to the entire curl command. To test if it works successfully and sidecar is being killed, you can refer to my step-to-step instructions in here
