Motivation

MySQL CDC cannot support Schema Evolution triggered by gh-ost / pt-osc tools because they perform the final switch using RENAME TABLE. Initially, Flink CDC did not support parsing the RENAME TABLE statement, but now the community has improved this feature, and we can also enhance it on Paimon.

The design is very clever, masking the change process of gh-ost / pt-osc tools. In the implementation, the original table's DDL record is restored and this DDL statement is added to the binlog and sent downstream. Therefore, Paimon does not need any changes, just upgrade flink-cdc to version 3.3.0.
