wrong type argument: hash-table-p

I've just installed persp-projectile and when trying to invoke projectile-persp-switch-project, I get this (from the *messages* buffer):

projectile-persp-switch-project: Wrong type argument: hash-table-p, nil
ad-Advice-switch-to-buffer: Wrong type argument: arrayp, nil

I think I just ran into this, and it was because I hadn't M-x persp-mode yet.

I think it happens when *persp-hash* is nil

I ran into this problem today.

*persp-hash* only exists in persp-mode.el. The persp-projectile package was written to support the original perspective.el.

Using straight, persp-projectile pulled in perspective.el as a dependency, and calling (persp-mode) activated the perspective.el version of this minor mode instead of the persp-mode.el version, leaving *persp-hash* uninitialized.

Not a bug in persp-projectile, but a notice in the readme might help people avoid this problem.

I just ran into this problem as well. i don't understand the explanation given by @rtwitchell
what i get out of this explanation is:

• this lib is designed to use perspective.el
• this lib only works when using persp-mode.el

i was under the impression that these two libraries (perspective.el persp-mode.el) are not designed to work together, as they do the same thing. i read that persp-mode is a fork, or like a fork, of perspective.el.

The explanation/work-around sounds like a hack to me. i'm supposed to use persp-mode, but this persp-projectile lib is not designed to work with this mode, it's designed to work with perspective mode. if the previous post is a work around for the non-bug, i'm left feeling like i can only use this lib with a dep it isn't designed for, and to me this sounds like a bug.
