Is it necessary to use d3 charts?

I was impressed by your implementation of the filters and was wondering is it possible to use these filters with plot.ly charts.

the goal of this project was to use D3 (I wanted to use a combination of d3/react, also for a blog post).
Thus, plot.ly was never in scope.

The whole code is rather tightly linked, I haven't touched it for a good while - these days, I'd definitely use TypeScript. Is there any particular filter you are looking at?
