Would you be interested in a PR that implements the Blockchain trait for it?

The team is currently working on a refactor that will make the core bdk wallet more agnostic to which blockchain client is used, after this change is done an example of how to sync a bdk based wallet with Blockbook would certainly be interesting. See #793 for new examples with electrum and esplora clients.

Hi! Here's what I'm thinking, based on the current BDK architecture and the Blockbook REST API:

• add two crates in nursery/:
  • blockbook-client - a minimal HTTP client covering only the subset of Blockbook API needed for BDK integration.
  • bdk_blockbook - an extension trait BlockbookExt on the client (similar to EsploraExt), implementing full_scan() and sync().
• add an example_blockbook following the same structure as example_esplora with example_cli.

I found an existing blockbook crate that has a bdk feature, but it targets bdk 1.0.0-alpha.2 and hasn't been updated since early 2024. It also pulls in WebSocket support and other dependencies we wouldn't need.

Noticed #2006 which migrates standalone examples to rustdoc.
The plan stays the same, but with rustdoc examples in the crate instead of a standalone example_blockbook.

This sounds like a good plan and follows how we do electrum and explore support. But I'm not sure about putting them in nursery, they could probably be their own crates. Let's discuss with team on next call.
