Own library for QRs instead of external service

Right now the libraries (ruby, php, js...) are trusting to google the generation of the QR codes, and it in my opinion is a security fault. They should import a QR generation library and do by themselves.

Imho, the main difficulty for server-side qrcode generation is to get something working in all contexts (where should we store qrcode images, ...).
I think the best solution depends on the type of the library:

• specific libraries (like CMS plugins) should be able to integrate something reliable and not requiring a third party service,
• generic (low level) libraries shouldn't have a qrcode generation method or should make clear that the proposed method is for test use (my preference). Website developers are then free to choose the solution which best fit their project.

May be another kind of solution : client-side generation with a js lib like http://davidshimjs.github.io/qrcodejs/

In the server side you can generate the QR and serve it as a data uri:

<img src="data:image/png;base64,.....">

This is how I did it in PHP.

Holy s... ! I haven't thought to this but it's definitely the best option. :)
Something better for qr generation in the python lib was on my todo list. I think I'll go with a similar implementation.
