basically this plugin is a framework that allows you to easily create modules for storing and restoring snapshots of configuration data in a particular wordpress installation.
the framework includes one plugin built on top of it which creates a module for snapshotting active plugins, which when activated shows a ui on the plugins page where you can save the current state of active vs inactive plugins to a snapshot, or restore the state of active vs inactive plugins from any previously taken snapshots
creating snapshot modules with the framework is intended to be very simple and require little code. full docs are here http://beezee.github.com/wp_config_snapshots/
