cannot compile the source code too outdated functions and libraries

I am trying to build the project from source but i am unable to build because the source is too outdated
example the material-dialog used is v6.1.6 but current one is 9.6.4
is it possible to update the project?

is there a new compiled error free one? how to compile using the latest android studio
