restart doesn't work

although to be fair, it was after i upgraded the jar, so that could have something to do with it

What's the error you see from the restart?

For what it is worth, restart is working fine for me after applying #5. You might want to try again after that issue is committed. (To be clear, I don't think there is a problem prior to that issue, but installing with a more recent specified version of mc is handled there, whereas HEAD of master today always takes 1.5.2.)
