Built Environment Data (BED) aims to provide open access to numerous services. We are contributing to the European Plate Observing System (EPOS) by supporting the development of risk services related to the built environment. Our aim is to establish a new Thematic Core Service (TCS) focused on providing FAIR data, services, and software for buildings and urban infrastructure. This initiative will bring together leading engineering research groups across Europe to offer resources like exposure databases, dynamic models, and access to structural testing data. By involving disciplines such as social sciences, urban planning, and climate adaptation, we aim to create a more holistic view of risks in urban areas.
- Experiments as an open-access platform offering curated data on building and infrastructure performance for model validation and collaborative research
- RESSLab-hub providing open-access data and advanced modeling tools to support seismic performance studies, predictive maintenance, and the development of design standards for steel structures
- URM Data as an open-access resource offering curated shake table test data on unreinforced masonry buildings for model validation and seismic assessment studies
- Stone Masonry Data as an open-access resource offering curated shear-compression test data on stone masonry walls for model validation and structural performance assessment
- SimDesign as an open-access service offering a collaborative framework for simulated building design based on European seismic codes, using open-source tools and data. It generates detailed building models for use in non-linear analysis and the development of fragility and vulnerability models.
- Embodied Carbon as an open-access service providing global data and maps on the embodied carbon from seismic damage repair and building replacement. It supports studies on environmental impacts, building typologies, and urbanization’s effect on the global carbon budget.
- Contribute to the services - Add your open-source application to the set of Services at BED.
- Share data - Get in touch to publish your experimental datasets and obtain a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI)
