@pchickey mind doing a follow-up to add release notes for 9.0.2 on the main branch after this? I think it's ok to leave out of this branch itself, I forgot notes for 9.0.1 on that release and retroactively added it to main

Yes I am writing that PR right now, I was following the 9.0.1 process as an example so I thought it was just a PR to main. |

Oh actually I just remembered, but this is not API-compatible with the 9.0.1 release I think due to the API breaking changes made in #6462?
