The snap is quite out of date, even the edge channel.

Proposed solution

Please consider updating to a current version of the GitHub CLI.

Additional context

The update is relatively straightforward: a rebase with one conflict, and one change to snapcraft.yaml to support the current version of snapcraft. I chose core24, although the current recommended base is core22.

I've pushed the changes to my repo, and I am currently using the snap I built locally.
