Is dynet supported anymore? Should users move to an alternative? #1664

Description

@divilian

Hello, when trying to install dynet, I immediately run into error #1662 as I see others are doing. This is an instant show-stopper for anyone trying to use the software. Is dynet no longer supported, and if so, should users move to an alternative? (and what suggestion would you have?)

Also: should a "no longer supported" notice be put somewhere prominent on dynet's github landing page, to discourage potential users from wasting time?
