Identify local datasets

We have proposed leveraging MN Capital Code and opentwincities.org for local datasets.. Let's identify a couple to consider using.

Sorry to lurch in late in the day, but what sorts of datasets are you looking for? I'm currently working with some students on an energy monitoring project here at the University of Minnesota, Morris, and I might be able to get you combined weather, energy production (via wind turbines), and energy consumption data from our campus if that might be useful.

Ideally we would use local data sets from, for example, opentwincities.org or other datasets recently liberated by the MN Secy of State.

Nationally they are using World Bank data....

The World Bank data is being accessed via an API, and at the moment we don't have anything like that set up (we just have a bunch of files). Our goal is to set up an API for accessing the data, but we're not there yet and I kind of doubt we'll be there by mid-May.

Following on to @NicMcPhee, by using an API, there is no need to have a database. If we want to use a dataset, we'll either need to put it in a database (and add to the installation and teaching topics) or construct some sort of reader to take the place of clj-http from the national project
