Can't use vitest-pool-workers with vite-plugin

Describe the Bug

As the title indicates, what is the recommended way to use the new vite-plugin with vitest-pool-workers?

Attempting to use vitest-pool-workers on a CF vite project results in the error "Error: The assets property in your configuration is missing the required directory property.".

Please provide any relevant error logs

I think the answer, for now, depends on whether you need to access the assets in your tests. If you do then you'll need to build the Vite application before running the tests. You could automate this by adding a globalSetup file e.g.

And then update the test.poolOptions.workers.wrangler.configPath in your Vitest config to point to the output Worker config e.g. ./dist/worker_name/wrangler.json.

If you don't need to access assets in your tests then you could override test.poolOptions.workers.miniflare.assets in your Vitest config. This would mean that you don't need to rebuild before running your tests.

The static assets don't exist in a way that can be accessed by the Vitest integration until the application is built. In the longer term we would like to rebuild the Vitest integration on top of the Cloudflare Vite plugin but it's a big chunk of work so we're not there yet.
