New Maintainer

First and foremost, thank you for what you have built and for your time as the maintainer of this app.

I am writing this as I noticed that the app was just recently marked as end of life. The issue for me is that I currently use this app, and I cannot see any current forks, maintainers, or good alternatives for this app. This post is up so that any potential future maintainers will be able to leave a notice for users here.

I additionally know that this is unlikely for an app of this size, and I recognize that I will likely have to do this if I want to continue to use this app. I'm currently working on this, however I'm not familiar with flutter and this will be the first android project I've worked on. I will send updates here on my progress and I'll post a notice if I find that I am able to maintain a new stable fork.

My progress

I'm starting work on getting familiar with the project and building the project, but progress will be slow until this Thursday when I'm done with my finals. This project is something that I'm working on during breaks.

Questions/Notes for @clragon

I don't see where any announcement of the project going End of life was made, and I don't see any explanation on your plans other than the project being end of life. I wanted to ask the following questions just to clarify if you have any thoughts on how we should proceed:

• Do you have any interest in being involved with the project in some capacity in the future?
• Would you be interested in taking a passive role in the project (IE reviewing and accepting pull requests), so that way we don't need to fork the project to continue development (and thus avoiding more work such as creating a new logo, name, and user migration documentation)?
• Would you be interested in giving a future maintainer write access to this project, also preventing us from having to hard fork the project?

I'm prepared to make a hard fork, but I would like to at least get #83 resolved and released to F-Droid to make it easier for users to migrate.

Notes for other potential contributors/maintainers

I have no interest in supporting IOS or MacOS as I don't own any of those devices. I don't plan on removing support, but someone else will likely need to provide support for those platforms. The main platforms that I want to support are:

• Android
• Linux (Specifically Debian and Archlinux)
• Windows

I talked with @clragon and it seems like the best course of action is to continue to work on this project rather than creating a fork.

I still recommend that we leave this issue open as I'm still inexperienced and we still could use other maintainers at the moment.

I'm likely going to work on some management stuff today, like moving my private issue I created on my fork and opening discussions about how we want to proceed with some of the other management related issues such as creating a project roadmap. I'll be opening issues so that we can keep track of them.
