Hi! Have you tried if you can receive the endpoints file from your phone, just to rule out any network (subnet routing) issues?

The route is accessible from both phone and laptop.
By "file," do you mean it should be downloadable as a .txt file? I am currently sending the text as the body of the HTML response.

No, "file" was probably inaccurately phrased. You're doing fine when you send the text in the response body, but you should set the Content-Type header to "text/plain".

Modifying the Content-Type header to text/plain didn't resolve the issue ( Connection still failed.

If there is a parsing error, will the error message be different?
Could this be related to downgrading the SDK version (28)?

I think there are two issues. There is indeed a bug when fetching the endpoints definition. I uploaded version 1.5.5 RC1 that should fix this. The other thing is that there are two top levels in your hierarchy definition (indicated with only one "-") but only one is currently supported. However, if you use 1.5.5 RC1 it should give you an error message. Can you please try?

I tried both with and without a Wi-Fi connection, but I'm still seeing this address

Do you maybe have a wired and a wifi network? Maybe your wifi router runs his own DHCP server and assigns 192.168.167.239 to your phone or the watch? Have you checked on your router if you see a device with that IP?

No, maybe it’s a Bluetooth bridge from the phone to the watch for internet sharing

I would rather prefer to not provide the source code at the moment. I tested the current version 1.5.5 successfully in the simulator with API level 28 and on my Galaxy Watch 5. Do you have the possibility to test the app on a different smart watch?

You are trying to access a other subnet network from your smartwatch?. Put the endpoint server in the same subnet and try again. Lightweight devices have basic network clients.
