Proposal
Just like we have product-level synonyms currently, add ingredient-level synonyms.
uridine triacetate, triacetyluridine
- Found this in DRUGBANK which is a SAB I intentionally don't use - maybe with the right licensing would be OK?
paclitaxel protein-bound, nab-paclitaxel, nabpaclitaxel
- NOTE: this one is really a PIN -> IN synonym, but no active drugs have these PINs (and therefore don't show up in the drug database) so they should maybe be captured as synonyms? Maybe we should capture all PINs as synonyms for INs?
hydroxycarbamide, hydroxyurea
- This one had an SAB = ATC, TTY = IN synonym... I think ATC would be alright to use as a source.
Rationale
If users get only ingredient data and need a way to map similar synonyms to coded ingredients, this could be benficial.
