Updated bootstrap.py/buildout version appears to break on OS X Lion

This appears to be because ${buildout:location}/parts/buildout is injected into PYTHONPATH, which seems incorrect for purposes of what virtualenv needs to do -- site.py is a monkey wrench here.

At the moment, I am not sure what to do but use an older bootstrap.py -- which works.

Using the older bootstrap from 1.4 is fine. After all buildout 2 will use that one as well. The buildout 1.5 changes to isolation where well-intended but broke too much in practice.

bootstrap-1.4.4.py?

No, the older bootstrap works. But I suspect that bootstrap.py (or zc.buildout 1.5.2) fails in too many common cases to be warranted. I believe fixing this is simply a matter of reverting commit 8322f5d -- and then just removing bootstrap-1.4.4.py. Was there ever any material benefit of using buildout 1.5?

Since using the older buildout only affects the python buildout itself, not any buildouts installed with the pythons built by it, I'd say we revert to the older bootstrap. I just built Python 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 3.3 and pypy 1.9 with it and will test them for a while.

@fschulze did you try with the latest bootstrap from the 1.6.x series? I'd assume it behaves the same way as the 1.5.x ones, but it might not.

I used "svn cat svn://svn.zope.org/repos/main/zc.buildout/trunk/bootstrap/bootstrap.py >! bootstrap.py", but there were no changes. I also tried using the old bootstrap, but with -v 1.6.3 and -v 1.5.2 and there is no change. As far as I can tell the issue is in buildout itself, not the bootstrap version.

@fschulze buildout development moved to github. I meant https://github.com/buildout/buildout/blob/1.6.x/bootstrap/bootstrap.py

Ah, need to try that, but I guess it doesn't change anything as the site.py stuff is in zc.buildout itself.
The buildout.org website should be updated with the new location. I kinda remembered that it moved, but didn't find it on github and the website still points to svn.

That bootstrap is only slightly different and doesn't fix the issue.
