Scala Intro #274

Description

I would like to suggest you two lectures (that I find very interesting) about Scala that focus on the language instead of the “logistics”.

  1. “Scala for the Intrigued”
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grvvKURwGNg&t=1261s
It’s a relatively long lecture (01:42, in English) by Dr. Venkat but he does it in a fun way.

  2. “Building DSLs with Scala”
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hweLTQ_KoUg
In this lecture (00:32, in Hebrew), Alon Muchnik shows the power of Scala by creating a DSL using Scala.
Domain-Specific Languages, or DSLs, provide convenient syntactical means of expressing goals in a given problem domain. A well-crafted DSL communicates the essence and means of the domain it represents in a natural way, so that you don’t even think about its underlying technology.
