User Testing
Welcome to the User Testing Page for the Wildfire Visualization Platform. This page is intended to guide test participants and evaluators through setup, consent, and a structured walkthrough of the application.
Before beginning the test, please make sure you have read and signed the required consent form provided by Concordia University.
If you are viewing this offline, please contact a team member to access the consent form before testing.
Please follow the instructions in the README to launch the application locally:

Below is a list of tasks to help guide your exploration of the platform. You may follow these in order or explore features independently.
- Launch the application.
- Navigate to the Available Datasets panel.
- Select and load a dataset.
- Observe the metadata display upon loading.
- Use the buttons/toggle to adjust available dataset view:
- Name
- Date
- Reset
- Region Toggle
- Use the timeline bar.
- Adjust the playback speed.
- Observe how the data visualization responds.
- Hover, scroll, and click within the Weather Assets Panel.
- Ensure assets respond and render correctly.
- Open the Settings Panel.
- Verify you can copy the endpoint URL.
- Switch between English and French using the language toggle.
- Observe the changes in labels and UI components.
- Toggle between different map layers or view modes.
- Confirm all views render properly and are interactive.
- Click the Reset Button
- Click on "Reset"
- Redo Task #1
- Click on "Factory Reset"
- Redo Task 1
- Click on "Reset"
After completing your testing session, please fill out the official feedback form:
Your feedback helps us improve the platform and ensure it meets the needs of data analysts and other users.
- You may follow the tasks sequentially or explore freely.
- If you encounter any bugs or have suggestions, note them in the feedback form or share directly with a team member.
- All testing is conducted individually to avoid influence between participants.
- Please review all information and submit your responses after testing.
