tinygpt

A minimal implementation of GPT architecture with tinygrad, trained on The Silmarillion, written by J. R. R. Tolkien.

This project is just for experimenting with tinygrad, and is not polished at all (and, very likely, might not be polished in the future).

Regarding the training data, you can put whatever text file you want in a data/ folder, and update the filename in scripts/main.py.

If you want to run a simple experiment, make sure you have uv installed, then run:

uv sync && uv run scripts/main.py
