Interface changes

I find the interface colors of Databus depressing. Maybe we could change the color scheme to look more welcoming/optimistic.

The old databus interface looks much more positive, even though still depressing... We lack bright warm colours in the interface.

I would not underestimate this things, and make it one of the priorities

I also find the interface not ergonomic in a way:

so if you look at almost any page (as in the screenshot), half of the screen is just empty blank space, and to see useful information you need to scroll down

Tasks:

• Adjust color scheme
• Decrease header size
• Tackle responsiveness

@holycrab13 we would like to give this to Henry for picking colors, could you give an overview or a list of which colors are needed where, i.e. group/artifact/user/buttons/header???? So we can effectively give it to him.

We need colors and icons for all concepts:

• Databus (Keeping the icon could be cool)
• User (Current icon might work)
• Group
• Artifact
• Version (Icon might need tweaks, but derivation of the Databus icon is quite neat imo)
• Collection

Colors require a passive and an active variant (i.e. for backgrounds and for buttons)

It would be too time consuming to make deep interface changes but it would be great to get Henrys feedback on spacings and font sizes.

Here is a (poorly hacked together) list of the current icons, colors, and thoughts behind them.
I was aiming for colors that work okay together but are still distinct enough.

Concerning empty spaces - vertical spacings can be reduced a bit, but we have to keep in mind, that the content is dynamic and the users will find ways to fill the space! This will lead to some pages looking empty when there is very little content (e.g. no description, short title)
