Revival of #7829. For some reason re-opening is disabled.

This makes it known in the changelog that users can now use D without the runtime in a more pay-as-you-go fashion, with a low barrier to entry, and much less friction. It is the result of the following PRs.

Nice explanation message & excellent job!

convenient to use D without the runtime in a pay-as-you-go fashion. This will
be of interest to users wishing to incrementally or partially port D to new
platforms, users targeting bare-metal or resource constrained platforms, and
users wishing to use D as a library from other languages without the runtime.)

FYI: the changelog script magic is smart enough to auto-insert $(P) (i.e. make it feel like it's Markdown-flavored Ddoc) here - though it doesn't hurt to have.

For some reason re-opening is disabled.

You probably force-pushed to the PR while it was closed. Common problem with GH.
It can be solved with checking out the commits that used to be on the branch (git reflog), force-pushing, reopening and then force-pushing your actual changes again.

Thanks a lot Mike (@JinShil). Have you considered to create a D embedded GH organization to gather all the people interesting in exploring that area?

Yes, I have, but I don't have anything really to gather around. All I have right now is a silly proof of concept. I need these PRs to trickle down to GDC before I can continue any work.

I see, it might still be a good time to collect people, b/c there is at least a handful of people with interest and momentum is important for such projects.
I guess you know that ldc supports -mtriple=thumb-none-linux-eabi targets out of the box nowadays.

Yes, I'll be trying that as soon as 2.079 lands there. But I ran into a few bugs with LDC. I'll have to see how testing goes.
