Release Versioning Question

I'm a little confused why this project doesn't release new versions very frequently.

Also why is the development version not bumped while it's in progress?

👍 release early release often. I think more or less any change that's passing the build should be released. And perhaps more focus needs to be out on ensuring contributors provide tests for new features.

A big bit of friction to releasing is building the OS X binary, which I need to do on a Mountain Lion VM on my machine. It doesn't work on any version more recent that Mountain Lion. Any suggestions for automating gladly accepted. I thought Sauce Labs might work, but they don't run Mountain Lion.

Compose is now released on a regular schedule (every 2 months I believe), and the version is bumped to a dev version between releases.
