I haven't found any information about timelines for getting the v1.7 series into the Docker repos, so opening this PR to fix #318 as well as get the latest v1.6 patch version released. I've tested builds on all the listed systems in the Jenkins files on amd64 but I don't see any other validation instructions to check.
