Running docker versions through Mac

Hi there,
I have been having issues installing and operating Lesymap through R so I am currently trying to operate Lesymap through docker. However, I am using my Mac so I was wondering whether you had any instructions regarding its installation on a Mac device ?

I don't use Mac, but but there's nothing special. In principle you should open the browser and go on the local URL shown in the readme after the container has started successfully. The scripts that start it automatically may work on Mac too, I remember we tweaked the script to make sure it opens the browser on Mac, but was few years ago.

Both dorian/antsr:latest and dorian/lesymap:latest appear in my docker's container section but i cannot get them to run.
The following error appears when I press run :

What can I do to overcome this? When it says I have to set a unique password and instructs to run -e PASSWORD=<YOUR_PASS> -p 8787:8787 dorianps/lesymap am I supposed to run this in the docker quickstart terminal?

I haven't run it in long time. Did you put a password? Try to use the Linux run script which takes care of asking the questions and setting the variables.

Okay, in order for me to run the Linux script which if I am understanding correctly is the code found under your docker folder LESYMAP and more specifically Run.Lesymap.linux.sh do I run the code through the docker QuickStart terminal? This is what I tried and i get this message "zsh: event not found: /bin/bash". Also I tried using your step on starting the container without the script where it asks to set the password but I cannot understand where I am supposed to set the password. Is it my password for my docker account?

You have two options: 1. Run the script in your regular terminal. 2. Start the container yourself, there is a clear Q&A on the main Github page. The example is this, you just need to replace the password with a random password: docker container run -v /PATH/TO/LOCAL/FOLDER:/home/rstudio/mydata -e PASSWORD=[YOURPASSWORDHERE] -p 8787:8787 --rm dorianps/lesymap:latest The password you set will simply be used to log in on the RStudio interface on the browser later. It is not your computer password or anything like that. It is just an arbitrary password you set to log in later. Hello. I used the second pathway and set my password and then when I try to launch LESYMAP through the port that appears in docker I get to enter my username and password but then I get the following message.
RStudio internalization error: unable to connect to service.

@katmav02 I just tried to start the container and works completely fine.

Note

This is all a command line process, both running docker and using lesymap. There will be no gui or point and click. For this reason, you need to understand the basics of command line. Also, you must report every single detail when asking for help. This includes what username you used, what screenshots you see, what computer you use, what OS, how much memory you have, etc. I cannot help if you say only you used your username and password, I have no idea what username you used. The username to use is "rstudio".

Below is the command line I ran on a Windows CMD terminal to start the container:

You also need to set the local path in uppercase in the command. And you need to post here what you run to increase the chance of me understanding the problem and helping you.
