CoreRT does not support loading .dlls via file path today. It does not make sense since everything is compiled into a single native binary.

Methods that expect IL files on disk throw PlatformNotSupportedException in CoreRT, e.g.:

We do not have this stub for AssemblyLoadContext.GetAssemblyName method and that's what causing build warning. It should be pretty easy to add it. It will make the build warning to go away. It may or may not make NLog actually work - depends on whether it actually depends on the loading .dlls via file path in your case.

@frankzye Are you interested in submitting a PR to add AssemblyLoadContext.GetAssemblyName that just throws PlatformNotSupportedException?

NLog works without System.Runtime.Loader.AssemblyLoadContext.GetAssemblyName. It is there for automatic loading of additional extensions (Scans for extra NLog.*.dll-assemblies at startup).

When using NetCoreApp2.1 then there is no warning. See also NLog/NLog#2979

Throwing PlatformNotSupportedException in AssemblyLoadContext.GetAssemblyName would not be a problem for NLog.
