Suggested by Ian Usher, who describes this as the overriding thing that would make TaskDial a daily-use tool.
The idea
A pop-out or picture-in-picture mode similar to Spotify's miniplayer or Google Meet's PiP window: a small, resizable frame that floats over all other windows, keeping TaskDial visible while you work in other apps. Critically, a 'restore' button should bring you straight back to the full TaskDial tab, wherever it is — no hunting through open tabs.
Ian tried enabling auto picture-in-picture after installing TaskDial as a Chrome app, but it did not work.
Why it matters
TaskDial is most useful when it is always visible. At the moment, switching to it requires finding the tab. A floating mini-view would keep the clock and current task visible at all times without taking up a full window.
