Render Readme fails

I just got a message from the Render Readme job:

As far as I can tell this is all based on main, right?

Any ideas for why the head could be detached?

Hmm. ok it seems like one issue is that the job triggers on a pull request and also commits the readme. After merging, the action runs again, but then of course there is nothing to commit anymore.
It seems to me like the action on pull request should build the readme, but not commit it?

I'd suggest copying the epinowcast version of this action.
