visensor replacement / continuation?

With Skybotix having been bought by GoPro, is there any continued development or maybe even a successor to the visensor from ETHZ or someone else? Does anyone know of a similar hardware that allows synchronized recording of up to 4 cameras and IMU?

In addition, it would be a huge sign of support to the early-adopters if the hardware and firmware were made opensource.
For example, schematics are useful when repairing a broken VI-sensor and physical dimensions would smoothen design of brackets and casings.
