GCode functionality no longer available

Between commits cbb2678 and cc7774e, the GCode functionality was removed. Is it possible to re-add this for processing v2.2.1?

Oops, that was a bit of a sloppy merge. I have re-added it, along with a little bit of extra feedback (alert window).
