the applet not respecting the list view preference

First off amazing applet/widget, the bug is that i have set the List View's View as Extended and earlier it used to default to that when i open the applet through the system tray but now they dont follow that as seen in the provided picture. The View is set to Extended but the applet shows Compact view, just a minor issue overall thank you for this.

You're right, this setting is currently useless and doesn't do anything. I hadn't noticed that.
I've fixed it, now this setting will define the initial tab (after a reboot).
I also added a checkbox "Always switch to default tab", which will force switching to the selected tab every time the widget is opened.

Not sure, maybe not soon. If you're asking because you want to try the latest changes, you can install them through the settings.
Settings -> General -> Misc tab -> Install development version
