Unfortunately the majority of git operation time by far in the use case of us and indeed our industry (gamedev) are spent up- or downloading large files from git-lfs hosting. This is unfortunate because these latest progress feedback improvements do not take git-lfs operations into account.
The result is that we are still looking at a progress bar fairly quickly going to 100 and then sitting there for an unknown (long) time. Obviously nothing is broken here, but having a better idea of progress would let everyone manage their time a little better - producing a happier workflow.
