In order to communicate the way this module should be used, it would probably be best to track the major version number of sqlite3 and increment the patch number independently - unless you intend to make breaking changes within the way a common user will require and use the module

But I'm not sure whether such solution of cross-sqlcipher would work well with that or not.

I mean with later versions of node-sqlite3. I thought I would have to keep such solution working though.
